HOUSE RULES

Rootstock is a small retreat center, community-supported bathhouse, conscious community and new paradigm business. We believe that the inner landscapes of consciousness, wellness and oneness need nurturing, exploring and fortifying so that the outward work of compassion, restoring justice, dismantling the patriarchy, defending the Earth, decolonizing ourselves and our world, and birthing a new paradigm for humanity can occur. It is the responsibility of those of us alive today to go within and transform ourselves so that we may transform the world. Welcome to Rootstock Retreat!

1. Check in is anytime after 3:00pm and check-out is by or before 11:00am. Early check-in and late check-out are subject to availability and must be arranged ahead of time.

2. Trash and recycling generated by guests must be removed and disposed of by the guest. A trash/recycling fee will be charged to guests who leave behind their trash.

3. Wood-Fired Hot Tub access is subject to availability and costs an extra $45/person for a shared tub. Requests for the hot tub require at least 24 hour notice. Rustic spas can fluctuate greatly in temperature and pose danger to guests and thereby require the oversight and instruction of the property owner to access with no expectations. Guests may not under any circumstances enter the tub or fire the tub without permission.

4. Make sure to turn off the lights and any electronics when you leave the house. Be conscious of your resource consumption.

4. Firewood & Campwood may not be gathered or cut from the land. Guests are welcome to bring their own (bought in VT) firewood or to purchase wood from us. Wood comes with both the cabin and Tiny House.

5. Smoking is not allowed inside any of the dwellings at Rootstock. Guests who wish to smoke are invited to do so only in the designated parking areas and must take any cigarette butts with them when they leave.

6. Pets are not allowed. Not even the sweetest, kindest, quietest ones. Sorry, we love our four-legged brothers and sisters but this is not the place for them.

7. Guests are asked to keep noise to a minimum throughout their stay so as not to interfere with the wildlife here or neighbors. Excessive noise after 9pm is prohibited to ensure a healthy, safe space for our neighbors.

8. Parties are not allowed at any Rootstock bookings. Accommodations and access to Rootstock’s property is available only to folks on the original booking. If you’re interested to host an event at Rootstock, you may inquire about that directly at RootstockRetreat dot com.

9. Report any damages and/or breakages in a reasonably timely manner. Damages exceeding the security deposit amount must be paid by guests and will be reported to Airbnb.

10. Guests are welcome to walk, snowshoe and ski around Rootstock. No mountain bikes or motorized vehicles like snowmobiles are permitted. Guests should be respectful of other guests on the property and respect privacy and refrain from entering the Tipi or other dwellings without expressed permission or an invitation.

11. Guests wanting to participate in any events happening at Rootstock during their stay must RSVP separately. Access to programming is not included in the price of the Air Bnb. See rootstockretreat.com/events-calendar to see what’s planned.

12. Guests should wash all dishes, remove trash and recycling and leave the space clean upon check-out.

13. Dwellings should be left unlocked when guests leave. Doors and dwellings remain unlocked at Rootstock and, though some guests may prefer to lock the doors before bed at night, all doors should and must remain unlocked upon departure.

14. Parking is available for one car per booking. Guests staying in the Cabin or Guest Room may park in the lower driveway of the cabin while guests staying in the Tiny House, Trailer or Campsites should park in the main parking lot on the back road.
